Of Love and Of Hate

  • Apr. 28th, 2008 at 12:34 AM
Over the past few weeks, I've been on a mission to find a new purse, and a new wallet. My teeny-tiny $9.99 Target purse has outlived all my expectations for it, and my government-issue credential holder is a poor substitute for a wallet, but that's what I've been using for the past five years. I made false starts with both the purse and the wallet, but was much happier on the second go-round. Harlon's 75th birthday party 025
Space girl? Naw, just an out-of-the-box fashion experiment.
No, it wasn't a costume party. Did it work? You tell me!

Rumor has it that at an At|anta party on Saturday night, the daughter of a former presid3nt (DOAFP) had plenty to say about a certain person's silver go-go boots. "Space boots!" she exclaimed from afar. Thus ensued an extended tete-a-tete between these two and the DOAFP's "wing-woman" for the night, about their respective fashion choices for the evening. good dogs! sit and watch
Doggies sit! Doggies Watch!

It's been a good year or so since I had the dogs in obedience training classes, but I guess I still put them through their paces often enough that they are pretty good with the basics, like "sit" and "watch," as you can see from the picture. They look me in the eyes when I say "watch," and I actually had the camera in my hand down by my side when I took this shot of them being very good girls. You can see that patch on Rosey's side where she was shaved to expose the bite marks from the attack of a few weeks ago. We're so lucky she wasn't hurt beyond a few superficial wounds.Read more... )

Self portrait, at my desk.

A few folks have asked about how Rosey the Amazing Destructo-Puppy has been doing since she was chewed on by that dog on our walk a few weeks ago. She's doing great! She got over the limping the very next day, and her surgeon said her knees appeared to be fine, her recently-operated-on one in particular. She's got a weird diagonal bald strip on her side where the vet here shaved her to expose the puncture wounds. They've all healed up fine. Thanks for asking! Read more... )

These Boots

sadly, not made for walking
Great look huh? Sorry bout the super baggy rolled up jeans. And that's a silly vase that was in front of the shop mirror. Love the look of these boots. Too bad I couldn't walk in them!

I am in and out of love with shopping. And when I say "shopping," I mean mostly for clothing and things for myself. At this time of year, I find it hard to be in love with shopping, given the crowds and general insanity. It seems to have gone crazy very early this season. That said, I dropped into a little shoe shop in downtown Tuscaloosa last week, and spied a pair of boots I wanted to try on. Read more... )
